Chaos Tag (Infinity Tag)

This is an easy, popular game, used a lot by teachers for Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) for warming up before doing physical education (PE) lessons. Or just used just for fun! Great for using up excess, pent-up energy, with the possibility of going on endlessly until somebody stops it.

  • Everybody is a tagger. If you get tagged you sit down where you are and remain inactive BUT keep an eye on the person who tagged you, because in addition to them being out, anybody they have tagged is released and can continue to try and tag others.
  • If two people tag each other at the same time they play Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who should be the winner.
  • Teachers or the person organising the game can also shout “Jail break!” which releases anybody who is currently tagged and sitting down.

The other versions of tag this school plays to warm up are Bulldogs and Cross the River.
