Home Age - Older Children Chaos Tag (Infinity Tag)
Silhouette of children playing tag

With thanks to #Minimantaray who reports this as a quite popular game played at a primary school in Reading. Berkshire. It is another version of tag and a great game used a lot by the teachers for Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) for warming up before doing physical education (PE) lessons. All used just for fun! Very good way to loose energy as this has the possibility of going on endlessly until somebody stops it.

  • Everybody starts out as ‘IT’ (somebody able to tag another person). If you get tagged you have to sit down where you are and have to remain inactive BUT! you need to keep an eye on the person who tagged you, because if they are tagged they are now out and have to sit down, but everybody they had tagged and sitting down is now released and able to tag again.
  • If two people tag each other at the same time they play Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who should be the winner.
  • Teachers or the person organising the game can also shout “Jail break!” which releases everybody who has been so far been caught.

The other versions of tag they play to warm up are Bulldogs and Cross the River.
