Simon Says…

An old one, very simple, but still good to have up your sleeve, that I was reminded off at football training today. It’s a nice one for parties and works better for younger children, but older children/teenagers will probably appreciate the more challenging variations.

Nominate one person to be the leader/caller. When playing with younger children this is usually the adult.  The leader then calls out an action for the others to do, preceeded by Simon says e.g. “Sinon says, jump up and down”, “Simon says, run on the spot”, “Simon says, touch your nose”. Be as inventive as you like. However, the catch is that if the leader says to do something without saying “Simon says”, then players must NOT do this action and remain carrying out the previous “Simon says”.

Alternate

A slightly more cognitively challenging version is Catch the ball, head the ball.
