Home Age - Older Children Wreck it Ralph
two children in silhouette running, among two cones standing up and one on it's side.

Energetic fun team game suggested by Kev Weir (@just.playsports).

Equipment:

A number of plastic cones. The more cones there are the better and more than there are players each in team (eg 1.5-2 x number in each team)

Needs a large playing area like a tennis court or football pitch. Large enough for everybody to be able to run around at the same time.

Play

Randomly stand the cones up around the playing area. Teams are given 90 seconds. One team is the “Wreck it Ralphs” who go around and knock down as many cones as they can in this time. The other team are the “Fix it Felixes” who do their best to put any cones knocked down back up in this time. Cones can be knocked down and reset as many times as desired in the 90 seconds.

Having more cones than players in a team prevents players standing and guarding cones to stop them being knocked over.

Count how many are knocked over at the end of the 90 seconds and teams swap roles. Team that manages to have the most cones knocked over at the end wins (or if you want the team that manages to keep the most cones upright).

Variations

Kev Weir suggests this can also be played by including footballs (US: Soccer) to encourage dribbling and shooting skills (players moving around by dribbing the football and/or using it to knock over the cones if wished).
