A game suggested by @jack.bruce.52687 (Home crossfit) aka “Coach is a bomb” as an easy-to-play, fun, physical education game that encourages groups to work together.
Works best for medium-sized groups of around 8-12.
Needs space enough for the group to move around easily.
The group stands in a circle facing inwards holding hands, with the adult/coach/leader who stands in the middle at the start. When ready the leader moves in different directions, slowly or with a short burst of speed to try and touch the circle. The players have to stop the leader touching the circle by moving themselves as a group and keeping the circle together.
Note: There is a strong element of keeping this playful rather than competitive, where the job of the leader is really to tease the players in the circle by moving randomly from their central position and getting the circle to move about, but stop short of actually touching the circle until they need to stop the activity.
