In the Records Office in London, there are numerous documents headed “Proclamations of His Majesty King George I” published shortly after he came to the throne.’ That couldn’t be so. Why not?



"If the documents were published just after his coronation, he would not be known as King George I. He would not be called that until after the coronation of King George II."
