A group circle game that is a variation on the game of Splat, noted to be played by @the_drama_centre and popular with their competitive teenagers.
Everybody except one player stands in a comfortable circle (not too close to each other or too far apart). The single player stands in the middle and becomes the leader or Splatter.
The leader randomly points (or pretends to shoot) to a player and says “Splat” or states a category (eg a drink, a colour, a geographical term, a type of cloud, etc). The person they pointed at ducks down. The players on either side of them in the circle have to turn towards each other and point or pretend to shoot and either shout “splat” if the leader said ‘Splat’ or if the leader stated a category shout out something in that category. Players who are last to say splat or come up with something in that category are out. However, if the person who reacted first was incorrect in their response to a category, they are out instead.
Those who are out sit down where they are. The person who had ducked down stands up again.
Players have to concentrate on who remains standing, as the next person still standing to the left and to the right of them in the circle now become their neighbours and if they duck down it will be the next person along to them who they have to react with.
Play continues until only 2 players left.

Some versions play so that players are not out if they are too slow or incorrect, but the winner swaps with the leader.
