How do you teach your children about consent? Many of us find it difficult talking about consent with our children or even fully really understanding it. For instance, were you brought up being told you need/have to give a relative a hug or kiss even if you did not really want to? Unfortunately if we teach our children this, it confuses what consent is. Besides which hugs and kisses given willingly are much nicer 🙂
Thankfully there are some good resources around aimed at children helping them learn about consent and the video below which was recommended to us by a parent is great for helping in getting the message across about what it is. It does mention the ‘S’ word, without going into details.
