Polish Chicken. White chicken, feathers reversed fluffed outwards.

Fun dual activity relay for groups, spotted being promoted by easierscouting.com. Pretty sure this has another name, “Rubber Chicken” is mentioned in the title given by Easier Scouting.

Although a rubber chicken of the squeaky type is the suggested object, you can use anything which you can throw and pass around without breaking, eg soft toy, bean bag(hacky sack), etc. Something that makes a fun sound when touched or squeezed will add to the amusement of this game.

Divide into two equal groups/teams. Team A and B for the purposes of description here.

Team A throws the rubber chicken anywhere into the playing area. Chicken must land on the ground. Everything now happens without pause!!

Both teams then have to run to the chicken, each team forms a single-file line facing the chicken…

Team B as soon as they are all in line, the last member of the team shouts ‘Go’. Indicating the first member of the team can start. They have to pick up the chicken, then with both hands pass it to the player behind them overhead. The second player takes it and holding with two hands, passes it to the player behind them between their legs. This continues in the over under alternate style of passing until the last player is reached who shouts “Stop”.

Team A have the job of seeing how many of their players can run around Team B and back in the time it takes Team B to pass the chicken to the end of the line. Team A can only start running when they are all in line the last member of their group shouts “Go” to indicate they are ready. The first person in line then runs around Team B and back, with the second person only setting off when the first player gets back and tags them on the hand.

Team A stops running when Team B shouts stop. Whole completed runs only are counted. If everybody in the team has managed to run before Team B shouts stop, cycle through team again. Only stop running when Team B has completed and shouted stop.

Teams now swap with Team B throwing the chicken and Team A grabbing the chicken.

The team with the most runs win.
